Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Summer Hill Public School, a proud and historic institution, located in the vibrant inner-west community of Summer Hill. We are home to around 650 students from diverse cultural and family backgrounds who share a passion for learning and a commitment to high expectations and inclusion. Our highly motivated and dedicated staff work tirelessly to provide a balanced, nurturing education that supports each child's academic, social, and emotional growth, preparing them to thrive both now and in the future.

At Summer Hill Public School, we celebrate a rich tradition of academic excellence, highlighted by our Opportunity Classes for Years 5 and 6 and supported by best practice in curriculum differentiation across all classrooms so that students can enter their learning experiences at their various points of need in safe and stimulating classroom environments. Students have access to an extensive range of enrichment programs including music, drama, debating, chess and sport. As well as being strong advocates for student agency and voice, we are fortunate to have a strong partnership with our enthusiastic P&C, whose collaboration helps foster a welcoming and engaging school community.

Our vision is to create positive, supportive learning environments where every student feels valued, known, and inspired to achieve meaningful goals, develop confidence and resilience, and become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We warmly welcome you to join us on this exciting educational journey.”
